Probably the most common and yet most dreaded phrase to hear while grocery shopping.
I ventured out to the grocery store today with both my girls (cue applause), and was struck once again by what a bizarre little 3-year-old I have. Because while she does occasionally ask to buy cookies or doughnuts, the section of the grocery store in which I most often hear this plea is the produce section.

That's right. Today alone I had my little girl begging me to buy blackberries, artichokes, mushrooms, brussel sprouts, potatoes, eggplant, and peaches. This is not counting the watermelon, lettuce, tomatoes, apples, bananas, yams, corn on the cob, carrots, celery, onions, and grapes that I actually bought. I always feel bad saying no to such good things, but some of them are pricey, and others I simply had no use for this week. I did buy her a couple mushrooms and peaches to make her happy. Liv loves mushrooms. She'll eat them like an apple if I let her.
And this is the same girl that will only occasionally eat pizza, mac and cheese, and chicken nuggets. You know, the normal "kid foods."
Like I said, bizarre.
Not that I'm complaining.
