A day at the park

On Saturday afternoon we went to a little park down the street from our apartment. It was a beautiful day.
Reaching for the camera...

I think she may be a little young for swings. ha!
Kicking her daddy's face. (I love Chase's facial expression!)

Chase, the comedian

My only question is, is she laughing with us, or at us? Seriously, we do the most ridiculous things to elicit a reaction from her.

Halloween festivities

On Friday we had a little Halloween party with some of Livia's little friends. SO much fun!

She makes a rather despondent looking fairy, don't you think?

I didn't take very many pictures, but here's one of Leah, who made an absolutely adorable chick.

And here is Tori, as a pink poodle. This is pretty much my favorite costume EVER.

Sydney was being so sweet to Livia. She has definitely learned how to "be soft" with babies, and kept caressing Livvy's cheeks.

Checking out all the candy she got...
This picture was taken at the ward trunk-or-treat. We were kinda lame and didn't dress up or decorate our car. But we DID give out candy, and I took Livia trick-or-treating to all the other cars. As if she could eat the candy. I am shameless!

On the way home, I turned to look at Chase and saw this!
Aggh! That's one way to use those plastic spider rings. He really did startle me...I'm just glad I'm not afraid of spiders, or I would have been totally creeped out.

Tag, you're it!

I was tagged by Whitney and instructed to go to my Picture Folder, pick the 6th folder, the 6th sub-folder, and the 6th picture and then blog about it. To tell the truth, my picture folder is very unorganized. Our camera automatically creates folders by date, so the 6th folder only contained one picture: me at 2 months pregnant. If you've ever seen someone at 2 months pregnant, you know there is nothing to see. It was simply a picture of me. BOR-ing. So then I decided to go to the folders that I had actually created and labeled and organized, and this is the picture I landed on.

Interesting. This is the picture I took the day after my major car accident (Note to self: never drive all night long EVER again) at my friend Amanda's apartment. I was extremely lucky to have ended up with this seat belt burn as my worst injury. My friend Stephanie, unfortunately, was more injured than I was and had to go to the hospital to get stitches. I still feel terrible about that. Considering what my car looked like, though (see below), I think we were very blessed and protected. I felt weird smiling in this picture, since I was trying to document an injury....but I looked really awkward trying to be serious. So a smile it was!

Blending in

This, my friends, is what we call "baby camouflage"

Sneaky girl

Chase was kind enough to take Livia during Priesthood/Relief Society on Sunday, and set her down on the floor between his feet so she could play. When he looked down a few minutes later, she had untied not one, but both of his shoes, and was happily sucking on the laces. The little imp!

I love craigslist!

I have been researching high chairs for weeks now, and finally decided on the Graco Contempo. Only problem is it was never in stock (apparently it's a pretty popular chair). So on Monday we called the store and they had it. Yay! We went to go pick it up, but once there I noticed that the seat cover on the particular model they had was not all washable. That just seemed like a really bad idea, considering Livia's only 6 months old and already manages to get what she's eating into her hair and all over her clothes.

We spent the next hour (to Chase's chagrin) mulling over the other high chair options they had. There was another one that I liked, but it was way out of our price range. So I settled on one that was more affordable but, frankly, unattractive. I was not happy with our purchase, so the next day I got back online to do more research. On a whim, I checked craigslist, and someone was selling a graco contempo for half the price it usually is! It appeared to be only lightly used, so I called up and drove to San Jose to check it out. It was in good shape, so I bought it, took it home, and cleaned it up. Looks practically new! I must say that craigslist has certainly served me well on more than one occasion.

Not bad, eh?

What is that?!!

As promised, here is the video of Livia's first bite of something other than rice cereal. Sweet potatoes. mmmm!

Join the club

I've been debating whether or not to start a blog for some time now, but decided I might as well since I've had several people tell me recently that I ought to.

The latest event in our lives? Chase's birthday!! Chase turned 25 on Saturday and we celebrated by...watching General Conference! What better way to spend your birthday than listening to the voice of the prophet, eh? Conference was great, but we really did celebrate, too. A week ago I took him indoor skydiving...

And decided to try it myself, too.

On his birthday we invited some people over for cake and ice cream. A few weeks ago I asked Chase what kind of cake he wanted for his birthday. "A winnie-the-pooh cake," he told me, in true Chase fashion. He was totally joking of course, but I thought it would be pretty dang funny if I actually made one! So while he was at the priesthood session of conference I set to work. Maren was SO kind to watch Livia for me while I decorated it, and for my first-ever attempt at decorating a cake, I thought it turned out fairly well! You can tell what it is, at least, right??

We all got a good laugh out of it, but Livia didn't share in our amusement...

That's probably all I'm going to post for now. Once I figure out how to upload videos from our video camera I'll post Livia's first taste of sweet potatoes. Classic.
